Spiritual Places in Pennsylvania

church

Founded on the principle of religious freedom, Pennsylvania is home to more "first" places of worship than any other state in the nation, including the first Church of the Brethren, the first Methodist Church, the oldest Mennonite Church and the oldest German Reformed Church in America.

Below we’ve gathered a collection of sacred spaces in Pennsylvania, where visitors can discover history, architecture and inspiration.

Microbreweries

The Millworks combines a restaurant, biergarten, and artist studios for a unique experience. The restaurant serves authentic, local, and sustainable food, with a full-service bar featuring local draft and bottled microbrews, craft beers, and their own nanobrews. Thirty-two regional artists have studios located inside the Millworks' building, allowing customers to watch sculptors, painters, and other artists at work from the restaurant and rooftop biergarten.

Pennsylvania's Vine Trials

The state’s moderate climate and rolling terrain provides some of the best growing conditions on the East Coast as more than 200 wineries produce a delightful array of wine varieties. With approximately 14,000 acres of grapes, Pennsylvania ranks 5th nationally in the amount of grapes grown (including juice grapes). The state also ranks 7th in the production of wine and 7th in number of wineries, with many of these wineries part of 12 organized wine trails that wind throughout the state.
